In November 2022, we referred to as on you to ask officers in Cass County, Missouri, to rescue dozens of canines from a horrific hoarding case that had gone on for almost 20 years. On December 22, 2022, officers eliminated 29 canines from this property throughout a catastrophic winter storm and positioned them with the Humane Society of Missouri. Fortunately, the shelter was awarded everlasting custody and the canines obtained take care of situations reminiscent of malnutrition, frostbite, and heartworm. But in some way, their alleged abuser has not been charged, regardless of what look like clear violations of MO §578.005, which requires that “healthful meals, clear water, [adequate] shelter and well being care as obligatory to take care of good well being” be offered.
We ask you to talk out on behalf of those canines once more by contacting the Cass County prosecuting legal professional and requesting that expenses be thought of. Solely by a conviction can sentencing provisions forestall repeat occurrences in hoarding instances.
